GYNP YOUTH CONFERENCE || Jazba Kuch Kar Dikhane Ka!

As continuity of GYNP 2010, Global Youth Network of Pakistan in collaboration with Youth Cultural Program of Pakistan and Youth Affairs is going to organize a 3 days event with the Theme, Jazba Kuch Kar Dikhane Ka!. This year the focus of the conference will be on Pakistan Youth.
The conference will include formal opening and closing plenaries with high profile politicians, and celebrities from Pakistan. Panel Discussions, Breakout Sessions, Skills Building Workshops, Exposure visits and Cultural Musical nights. The rest of the details is as follow:

Veet Miss Super Model Contest 2012 is a show designed, directed and executed by Catwalk Productions, with Veet as the title sponsor for the contest. The contest is currently in its third consecutive year, and proud to announce that the scope is on a bigger and international level. Veet is celebrating its 10th year of beauty, and in collaboration with that, it is offering Veet Miss Super Model contest an international platform.

Veet Miss Super Model contest is a show based on a model hunt from all across Pakistan, encouraging and facilitating young girls aspiring to be models and superstars to come forward and participate. The 2 previous seasons have been on a smaller scale, but because of the popularity of the show, this year the contest is stretching over a 10 episode series which will be aired on one of the leading channels of Pakistan. The grand finale of the contest will take place internationally, giving exposure to models, designers, photographer, stylists and most importantly brands.

The format of the show entails a well renowned panel of judges critiquing the show and giving contestants advice and tips on how to become super models through a series of challenges. Each challenge is followed by elimination and each episode has a new theme, style and approach to offer. There are various opportunities that brands can capitalize on by displaying their logo not only through on ground branding but also brand integration. The mileage that the show has to offer is a wholesome plan, encompassing all mediums of visibility.

Flash Back- Veet Celebration 2011Celebration

On 26th May 2011, Veet Celebration of Beauty 2011 Held at the Pearl Continental Karachi. The night was festive and dazzled by many celebrities who assured their presence. At the event Sana Khan was announced as Veet Miss Super Model, Urooj as Miss Catwalk and Saima Azhar as Miss Photogenic.

All the contestants of Veet Miss Super Model contest 2011 were wearing creations by Rizwanullah, Shehla Chatoor, Shamaeel Ansari and Sanam Chaudhri. Celebrities like Ayesha Omar, Sanam Agha, Mahira Khan, and designers like Umar Saeed, Deepak Perwani, YBQ , and Feeha Jamshed were there at the event. Whereas the models like Sunita Marshall and Humaima made the event more glamorous “Veet Miss Super Model 2011 is going to be a bigger and much more glamorous event. This year, the event is on a mega level and includes participants from Lahore as well.

The fourth and last day of FPW3 was attended by a number of prominent personalities along with a number of critics from the fashion industry. The dresses displayed were more classic and sophisticated compared to the previous ones. The finale featured the amazing duo Sana Safinaz, Abdul Samad, Tapu Javeri, Deepak Perwani, Iman Ahmed of Body Focus Museum, Feeha Jamshed and Honey Waqar.

Sana Safinaz – Elegant

Their collection was one of the most elegant, glamorous and stunning collection shown at FPW3. The collection included breathtaking dresses, tops with coats, velvet suits, gowns along with western dresses that were simple, decent and flawless and were a clear mirror of their personalities and style.

Sana Safinaz is the same duo that has designed dresses for red carpets around the world and designed one for our very own Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy for the Vanity Fair Oscar party.

Tapu Javeri – Tapulicious

Tapu Javeri, a photographer, artist, jeweler and RJ, various sides of a multi-talented maestro.

His presentation was focused on handbags and abayas. It was all about Karachi’s landmarks and truck art. The bags were colourful and attractive giving a trendy look to the traditional wear. Former model and event manager Frieha Altaf also walked the ramp with bags that had faces imprinted on them.The black abayas were beautifully embroidered by designer Atiya Khan .

Abdul Samad – Not upto mark

For a lot of the people this was the best collection but not everyone thinks the same. Abdul Samad show was more of a drama on Quaid-e-Azam and not a fashion display. Many think that no one can do justice with the grand visionary of Pakistan. It was not only about the concept but the charisma and character was also missing. Also, the audio played of controversial Zaid Hamid left a many in shock.

Renowned celebrities Moammar Rana and Sajid Hassan walked the ramp in the attire of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Liaquat Ali Khan respectively.

Deepak Perwani

Deepak, a man who needs no introduction incorporated printed saris and skirts into his collected. The dresses were beautiful with sophisticated cuts and embroidery but that is not what Deepak is all about and his previous collections. Nadia Hussain walked down the ramp as the showstopper.

Body Focus Museum

Iman Ahmed’s persona has always been enigmatic. The collection was classy and well- constructed with major focus on blacks and whites.  She demonstrated her command on plain silk and prints.

Feeha Jamshed –Minnaal

Her entire contribution was dedicated to her sister Minnaal who passed away in Paris in 2010.  The show was to remind that angels do exist in this world and teach us things that stick with us for the rest of our lives.

The collection was from Rizwan Beyg’s Showcase two weeks ago but this one had bold colours like red, gold, mustard, scarlet, and emerald. The models walked as if they were in a funeral procession with petals in their hands. The music was done by Mustafa Ali Jams.

Honey Waqar

No one was able to understand why the closing show of the finale was chosen to be of a bridal wear designer Honey Waqar’s. The entire focus was on rose and the collection had gowns-cum-lehangas which were not that impressive. The loudness of the dresses forced the audience out of the hall.

But anyways, after all the goods and the bads, the next fashion week will be in September 2012 and we will hope that this time the finale and designers leave a positive impact on the fashion industry in Pakistan.

Shamaeel Ansari’s collection, went on the ramp very first, influenced on the colours of nature — greens, reds, blacks, browns, oranges and whites of course. Lovely kurtas, short flared bordered tops and wraps lent a rather boho-chic effect to the whole collection. On and Off it was a mix plate of colour play and tricks of layers.

Baani D, presented  first time, No doubt nice Skirts, dresses, kurtas (long and short), creative pants in lovely pinks, blues, reds, blacks and whites took  geometric, architectural and even zari work.

Ahmed Bham,was impressive then before two days,  Bham had used prints and motifs very well

Every one was expecting some thing elegant from  Gulabo, the prêt brand by Maheen Khan; Vibrant blues, oranges, greens and pinks, balanced by the sensible use of white, black and brown —Lovely collection of long and short kurtas, shirts, tank tops, tees, denim salwars and straight pants for men and women.

Wardha Saleem, presented her designs with a lovely blend of colours , layers and cuts. Her kurtas, designed in multiple and innovative ways, short dresses, skirts (long and short), churidhars and jumpsuitstrendy designs with motifs,

Last designeer was Nomi Ansari,Famous Pakistan actor Meera ramp for his dresses as well.

Zahid Bashir presented ‘Kuki Concept’, the most beautiful  collection c churidar trousers and traditional  styled dresses.Beautiful models wore nose rings .Bashir focused on long-shirt dresses.

Ayesha and Somaya, presented the collection of  pink prominently

Hussain and Usman of NEXT presented a collection based on casual and formal dresses that consisted jeans, shirts, and three-piece suits.As NEXT always appeals

After words four Cute kids came in casual dresses and sunglasses, walking down the ramp,

Bombal Showcased lovely cool collection.

Last but not least  designer was  famous Umar Sayeed. He presented Long shirts of pink and black colours. The borders, necks and dupatta of the dresses were as embellished as he is known for.
